"Fowlers Gap Range Mono Study I" 2022, 27 x 25cm (unframed) Monotype in Oil On Paper.
Picture
A monotype is unique print, typically painterly in effect, made by applying paint or printing ink to a flat sheet of metal, glass, or plastic. The painted image is transferred to paper either by manually rubbing or using a press.

Monotypes are prized because of their unique textural qualities. They are made by drawing on glass or a plate of smooth metal or stone with a greasy substance such as printer's ink or oil paint.
