Art Journey to the Nepal Himalayas 17-25 November 2024
I’m excited to announce an upcoming opportunity to join a small studio class for an immersive painting experience in and around the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, in November 2024. The trip will involve a mix of dedicated studio time including lectures and demonstrations with field visits to inspiring urban and rural landscapes as well as a cultural program to engage with local artists. The itinerary will feature a residency within the UNESCO World Heritage listed Boudhnath stupa precinct, centre for Tibetan Bhuddism and a recognised focus for traditional and contemporary Thangka painters; as well as a special period of time staying near the sacred pilgrimage site of Namo Boudha to enjoy the extraordinary Himalayan vistas and rural landscape of Nepal. Quality accommodation and most meals will be provided, and ground transport arrangements will allow participants to choose between walking and vehicle transfers to key sites.

The art adventure is open to all artists working at levels of practice from beginner to advanced. Artists can also opt to plus one with a family member or friend. The trip will involve a mix of dedicated art workshops, lectures, demonstrations and studio time. There will be field visits for plein air painting and drawing at inspiring urban and rural landscapes as well as a cultural program to engage with local artists.
