I’m excited to announce an upcoming opportunity to join a small studio class for an immersive painting experience in and around the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, in November 2025. The trip will involve a mix of dedicated studio time including lectures and demonstrations with field visits to inspiring urban and rural landscapes as well as a cultural program to engage with local artists. The itinerary will feature a residency within the UNESCO World Heritage listed Boudhnath stupa precinct, centre for Tibetan Bhuddism and a recognised focus for traditional and contemporary Thangka painters; as well as a special period of time staying near the sacred pilgrimage site of Namo Boudha to enjoy the extraordinary Himalayan vistas and rural landscape of Nepal. The final three days we will stay in the histocic Patan district, home to the valley’s finest craftsmen who have preserved such ancient techniques as the repoussé  and lost wax process used to produce exquisite sculptures. Quality accommodation and most meals will be provided, and ground transport arrangements will allow participants to choose between walking and vehicle transfers to key sites.
